Thermal Winds began as an exploration of various media, driven by a desire to approach things from a fresh perspective. While maintaining a kubical aesthetic, it diverges slightly from the norm. The shapes evolved into more curved and diagonal forms, imparting a unique sensation to the artwork.

This piece was crafted during a sweltering summer, with many days spent at the beach near Haarlem, where Sigrid’s studio is located. Here, she observed paragliders soaring over the dunes, lifted by the winds as the heat intensified and thermal currents swelled. The palette of the painting draws inspiration from the beach, the ocean, and the rich hues of sunsets. Among these colors, warm gold accents evoke the sun's shimmering reflection on the water as it sinks into the horizon.
